Snow Days

This has been a SERIOUS winter!  We have had record breaking snow fall and temperatures this year.  I remember that two years ago, we hardly had a chance to play in the snow, but that has not been the case this year.  Although the dangerously low temperatures and all of the ice with me being pregnant have kept us in some, the kids have had several opportunities to play.

Our first snow day was actually in November!  It came and went quickly, so we hurried out to enjoy it.  It only lasted about 1/2 of a day!

Then in December when I was in Chicago with my girlfriends, we got our first big snowfall of the year, so Josh got the kids all bundled up and took them outside and built a huge snowman!  I have to say, I was impressed and surprised that Josh knew where all of their winter gear was and was happy that this was crossed of my list of mom duties for the winter.  Snow is not my favorite....  Sounds like the kids had a blast!  And Josh even took pictures, which was great since the snow melted quickly again!

In January and February, our schools had at least 10 cancellations, Sunday morning church was cancelled once, Wednesday night church was cancelled twice, and even my doctor's appointment was cancelled once, all due to weather.  We have been inside a lot, which has fed into my nesting/organization of home!
One day, we made snow ice cream with vanilla pudding mix.  It was yummy!  And you can see that we've been keeping our house toasty warm by the fact that the kids are eating their cold snack in their underwear!
Another day, we decided to make Jello jigglers, just out of boredom I guess.  We can't wait until spring when we can play outside!!!

It is now mid-March, and I am risking posting this because there is still more snow in the forecast....
