Jacob's Nursery and Updates to Hannah's Room

Jacob's nursery is finally close to being done. I'm sure I will continue to make some changes, but it finally looks like a room at least! This is the only room in our house that we had really neglected since we moved in. We had never painted or really done anything in there besides polish the floors and buy new blinds. It was a lot of fun to design a boys room after having done lots of pink the last few years!

We have been very blessed with lots of hand-me-down clothes for Jacob which is awesome! I had so many showers for Hannah, I really didn't need hand-me-downs, but I definitely did this time! I also have been stocking up on diapers when I can get a good deal. They need so many in the beginning!

Hannah's room has had several changes lately too. The crib and the changing table went to Jacob's room. We added some Disney princess things, and some of her big toys got put in there since she also lost her toy room. It is really well organized right now and I would love if we could keep it that way!

My Pregnancy-35 Weeks!

Here I am at 35 weeks-the most pregnant that I have ever been!

I thought maybe I should do a little update on my pregnancy as I could either be days or weeks from the end-you never know!  I am starting to feel much better about the preterm labor concerns, as I am past the 34 week mark which is crucial.  The next big step is 37 weeks-that was my goal!  Who knows-maybe I'll make it to 41 (but I hope not!).

If I am being honest, I have been really up and down on how I am feeling.  I am tired, have lots of headaches and heartburn, and can be pretty crabby, especially in the evenings.  Don't you just want to come hang out with me now?  I just do not feel like myself some days, but it's ok.  I'm trying to enjoy all the good things about pregnancy and savor each day because I know I'll eventually miss it.  I do LOVE feeling Jacob kick around.  I cannot wait to snuggle with him.  It's weird to think that at this point, I was already holding Hannah!

My family has been having fun guessing Jacob's birth date, height, and weight.  I am declaring some obvious losers here.  First of all, my dad gave the statistics for "the Thanksgiving turkey."  I told him he will be raising the baby then because that would kill me!  Also, Hannah was 21" at 5 1/2 weeks early so I doubt he will be much less if I go full term, but maybe I'm wrong!  And I certainly hope that Paul's date is wrong.  I DO NOT want to go into December-please!!!!  Here are the results so far.  Feel free to add yours in the comments:

Toddler Bed!

Hannah made the transition to her toddler bed about a month ago, and it has been a smooth transition! The first night, she came out three times, almost right away, but I went and sat with her for a few minutes and she was fine the rest of the night! Grandma Teresa made her a Cinderella blanket for her birthday, so she has been calling it her "Rella" bed, and I also got some Disney Princess wall stickers to put around it, and she really seems to like it. She also always has her pink blanket, her white blanket, her "Chloe/coogoo" (glowworm), Elmo, and her fish. I have to say putting her to bed is one of my favorite moments of our day. She never ceases to melt my heart! She is so sweet and gives Josh and I tons of hugs and kisses. She also loves to pray and have songs sung to her. We always walk out saying what a sweet girl she is! If I wasn't pregnant, I probably wouldn't have tried to move her already, but I was getting anxious to set up Jacob's room and it was getting harder to lean over the crib to get her in and out! Plus, both beds were already set up in her room, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try and see what happened. I'm glad we did!

Fall Activities

September was busy busy busy! I think we had something just about every day. I feel like we've been running from one thing to the next, and this pregnant lady needs a break! Here is a highlight of our activities: In mid-September, Hannah got to go on her first trip to Chuck E Cheese. She liked riding the horse and seeing friends! Jennifer, Kristina, and I exchanged freezer meals, which are going to come in handy since I am feeling pretty tired lately and my doctor said I shouldn't be cleaning or cooking too much. We went to dinner with Josh's mom and step-dad in September to celebrate Josh and Hannah's birthdays since August is such a crazy month for them. Hannah got some cute fall clothes and her first American Girls doll, a bitty baby. Josh and I took Hannah to an Illinois football game in Champaign, and we won! We've been working hard getting Jacob's nursery ready. We painted stripes which turned out really cute after LOTS of taping! I took Hannah to the McDonald's Playplace and she went to the TOP (like 30 feet high!) and went down the slide several times! Hannah has gone to a couple of parades, including a Labor Day Parade and The Homecoming Parade. She likes the drums in the marching band! Hannah moved up to the 2-3 year old class at church and has been having fun. We have lots of new 2 year-olds, so some days are a challenge getting them to follow instructions but I'm sure they'll be pros before we know it! I attended my 10 year HS Reunion-does that make me old??? I wish more people would have made it, but I had fun catching up with friends.
