Jacob is already 6 months old!!! I cannot believe how rapidly he is growing and changing. I am pretty sure he is the best baby in the whole world. He is just so easy! I know, I seriously thought Hannah was the happiest, easiest baby there could be, but Jacob may possibly have her topped. It probably helps that I know more this time, but he is just so laid back and happy. He smiles ALL THE TIME! I continually get asked if he is always so happy and smiley... and the answer is, well, basically yes. He only cries when it's time to eat or sleep, and that's an easy fix! I have no idea if this is an indicator for his personality later, but I'll take it at least for now!
Jacob looking adorable in his little Easter short-set and blue bunny ears from Grandma Teresa and Papa Ed. Here's Jacob in his little Easter outfit. What a doll baby!
Hannah loves her little brother so much! She hugs and kisses him constantly (and pushes and pulls on him occasionally!)Here's Jacob all ready for summer! I'm a sucker for the plaid patchwork shorts. I bought him three pairs... just couldn't resist!
Here's Jacob with his first friend, Quinn Oakleaf, the son of Samantha (VanDuyn) Oakleaf, one of my dearest friends from high school. Aren't they cute holding hands? I think they're fearful of the wild toddler running around them in her high heel dress-up shoes....
Lately, I have become more ambitious in leaving the house with both kids on my own. We have spent the day at the Champaign mall, gone grocery shopping several times, and have been to the park lots. I even went to an all day church leaders conference in Peoria and took Jacob with me. He was a perfect angel. He didn't make a sound all day! What a good baby!
Jacob is becoming somewhat mobile in that he is rolling everywhere all of a sudden! He started rolling back to front on April 18th, shortly after his 5 month birthday. Just in the last week, he has been moving across the room via rolling and scooting on his back. If you leave the room, you never know where he'll be when you come back!We gave Jacob his first food on April 27th, about 10 days before his 6 month birthday. He wasn't real interested the first two nights, but I think it was bad timing on my part. He was pretty tired, but I just wanted to try it while we were eating dinner. The third night, he started eating like crazy. We just gave him rice cereal for several nights. I also gave him a few bites of avocado since we were having Mexican. At first, he made a face like he was disgusted, but he eventually took it. Then last night and tonight, he had some banana, which he loved! I can't believe he's eating food already!
Hmm, I'm not so sure about this....
Why is it dripping down my face???
I think I don't like this....
That's it, I'm done!!!

Ha! We had a good time visiting the other day. Thank you for having all of us over. Quinn is no worse for the wear! Hannah was teaching him to continually be on the lookout for all girls, other than Mommy!
