We had some pretty good snow storms here last week, totaling around 12", I believe. They had predicted 20+", so we didn't get that much, but we did get a lot of ice before the snow, which made it just as bad, or worse, in my opinion. Josh got 1 1/2 days off work and the schools were closed almost all week.
Hannah had not been out in the snow at all this year, so I decided to take her out while Josh was home and could be inside with Jacob. We ran all over the front yard. She liked it after she was convinced that it was ok to get her snow boots "messy" with snow-she's a bit OCD! I showed her to how to throw snow, even though it wouldn't pack into a ball, and I tried to get her to lay down in it, but she didn't think that was such a good idea. She wanted to swing on the porch swing because we haven't been out there for months!
The neighbor kids across the street came out, so Hannah ran over there to play with them. I hadn't ever met the mom or little boy. Hannah immediately threw snow at him-oops! I taught her that one... He didn't really like that.
They were getting ready to go sledding on the little hill by their house. Hannah wanted to go with them, so they all three rode down together. The problem came in getting back up the hill. Remember the ice that came before the snow? Well, it was IMPOSSIBLE to not fall down. I would not be exaggerating if I said that I fell down at least 10 times, if not more. I finally crawled up the hill-no kidding. I actually hurt my wrist pretty bad. I decided it was Josh's turn, so we traded places. Hannah loved it outside. I think she was out there 2-3 hours. At least my child likes this winter weather-I'm ready to move to Florida!
