A Mickey Birthday!

We celebrated Jacob's first birthday on Sunday with ALL of our family.  We had 32 people over to our house for lunch after church... that was all family, and some couldn't come!  I thought about doing separate, smaller parties, but for the first birthday, it just seemed right to have everyone there together.
I had a hard time deciding on a theme, but I went with Mickey Mouse since we're leaving for Disney World in a few days.  To "baby it up" a little bit, I made a light blue and white Mickey cake to match Jacob's Mickey ears that we got for the trip.  I was happy with how it turned out.

Jacob got all sorts of fun gifts...
 His first pair of Nike's
 Some cute winter hats
 some trucks
 a Superman shirt
an oak toy chest
a vertical racetrack... and lots more!!!
I thought Jacob would get more into the cake than he did.  Unlike Hannah, he did have a taste of some sweets before his birthday, and he LOVES them (what kid doesn't?).  I honestly think that he stuffed himself on lunch and he just wasn't that hungry.  He did play around with the cake and eat some, but he didn't get that messy!

All in all, it was a nice day and celebration of our little boy's first year of life!  We love you SOOOO much, Jacob!  Happy First Birthday!!!
