Baby or Toddler?
Hannah has changed a lot in the past few months! It seems she has gone from "baby" to "toddler." She started taking some steps a few days after her 10 month birthday, and she started walking really well the week of her 11 month birthday. She rarely crawls any more. She is a girl on the move. She can climb up stairs, but we haven't worked on going down yet. She climbed the entire flight of stairs up from the basement without any help (I was behind her of course).
She loves to try to get in the fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. She cannot open them herself, but if she hears me open them, she makes a mad dash to get to them before I close the door.
Her new favorite food seems to be spaghetti. She figured out quickly how to slurp it through her lips. It's hilarious. She spits out any foods that she doesn't like, even foods that she was eating well before. She was loving grapes and mandarin oranges, but now she almost always spits them out. I don't know what's up with that. She is loving milk in her sippy cup. She has taken right to it, so I hope she sticks to it. I feel like I have to be careful not to let her drink too much so she will still eat her food!
She just had her one year appointment, which included two very unfun shots. They said she was 23 lbs. and 29", so she is pretty average size right now. It will be interesting to see if she got my family genes or Josh's. She has seven teeth-four on top and three on bottom. I keep thinking that the fourth one will come through on the bottom, but no such luck yet.
A new favorite activity of hers is dancing. Any time she hears music, she stops what she's doing and bounces her legs with her arms out. It is so stinkin' cute. She loves when I sing to her, and she loves peek-a-boo and patty-cake. She has even started lifting the blanket over her own face and then pulling it down and laughing. I love it.

Hannah also loves to go swimming. We have been to the pool in Danville a couple of times, as well as the water park in Champaign. She and I went down the waterslide in a double tube together lots of times. It floats right into a lazy river. That was so much fun. My Aunt Mary lives in Catlin and has a pool so we have gone there some too. This is the first summer I have got to put my swimsuit on, or even be outside for that matter, in a long time. It has been great!
Her favorite word is still "dada," although she says "mama" a lot too, and Josh also taught her to say "wow." She says "dada" a lot when Josh comes home from work. She gets so excited to see him, which is adorable. Lately, when he has been mowing, she stands at the back sliding glass doors, crying "dada" and banging on the glass. She can see him but she can't get to him. It's sad and cute at the same time.
Hannah got to meet her Great-Grandpa and Grandma Reeves for the first time this month. They came to town from Florida for her first birthday party. It was really nice to get to see them again and to have them in town for such a special day.
She is very interested in all of our technological devices... Cell phones, cameras, laptops, remotes... basically anything expensive. She hasn't broken anything yet... She also loves my wallet. She holds it while we're at the store, but now she has figured out how to pull out my credit cards, so we'll have to be more careful!
I am amazed at how much she has changed in one year. She is more than 4 times bigger than when we brought her home from the hospital! It is so much fun to watch her grow and discover new things. In a way, it's sad that it goes so fast, but on the same hand, every stage brings new joys.
