A Mickey Birthday!

We celebrated Jacob's first birthday on Sunday with ALL of our family.  We had 32 people over to our house for lunch after church... that was all family, and some couldn't come!  I thought about doing separate, smaller parties, but for the first birthday, it just seemed right to have everyone there together.
I had a hard time deciding on a theme, but I went with Mickey Mouse since we're leaving for Disney World in a few days.  To "baby it up" a little bit, I made a light blue and white Mickey cake to match Jacob's Mickey ears that we got for the trip.  I was happy with how it turned out.

Jacob got all sorts of fun gifts...
 His first pair of Nike's
 Some cute winter hats
 some trucks
 a Superman shirt
an oak toy chest
a vertical racetrack... and lots more!!!
I thought Jacob would get more into the cake than he did.  Unlike Hannah, he did have a taste of some sweets before his birthday, and he LOVES them (what kid doesn't?).  I honestly think that he stuffed himself on lunch and he just wasn't that hungry.  He did play around with the cake and eat some, but he didn't get that messy!

All in all, it was a nice day and celebration of our little boy's first year of life!  We love you SOOOO much, Jacob!  Happy First Birthday!!!

Trick or Treat!

Hannah wore her Rapunzel dress on our first night of trick-or-treating with the Downings!
Four Generations!!!

Hannah wore Dorothy the next night so that she could keep her princess dress clean... and so she would match with Jacob!
Josh and I were in charge of our church's Trunk or Treat this year.  Here is the Illini trunk!
Hannah with her friends, Lily & Violet!
My mom with her Cowboys trunk!
Jacob with his church buddy, Emerson.
Another sibling pair from church did the Wizard of Oz.  Aren't they all cute together?
Playtime with Papa!

October Fun!

Here is a picture update of what we did for fun in October:
We went to The Beef House to celebrate Great Aunt Sherry's b-day!
Cousin Stephen was in town from Colorado!

Hannah "helped" me make homemade noodles in her Fancy Nancy dress.
We went to the Homecoming Parade and stood where I always stood as a little girl!
I think it's funny that Jacob is wearing shorts here, and he's wearing a winter hat a few pictures later.
Crazy, Illinois weather!
Les and Sarah Evans got to come spend a weekend with us and go to the Illini game!  We had tons of fun!
Jacob went to the game, while Hannah stayed with Grandpa & Grandma.
First ever Stripe the Stadium!!

We had an all-church picnic and all the kids got to pick pumpkins!
We went up to the church playground... possibly one last time for the year.

Seriously, this face kills me!  LOVE this little boy!
Hannah's looking so grown up!  Thanks Aunt Emily for the matching hairbow!
Hannah and Jacob are always cuddling.  They love each other!
Just looking cute before church...
