Labor Day Weekend in St. Louis
For Labor Day weekend, we planned one final getaway for the year before we get too close to my due date! The year Hannah was born, we actually were supposed to go to St. Louis four weeks before my due date, which we thought was no big deal, but she was a week old when that trip should have occurred! This trip was for the same thing-the opening Illini football game of the year vs. Missouri.
We headed down on Friday morning and got to meet up with the Burgers! We went to their house, had dinner, and let the kids play. It was a lot of fun to see them and catch up a little. It was nice to have relaxing time with them.
Then we headed to our hotel which was downtown. We had a great view of the arch from our hotel window; it was really pretty. Hannah slept with us again, which worked out well.
In the morning, we met Josh's mom and brother for breakfast and then headed to the game. We had great seats, almost on the 50 yard line. Hannah did great through the game. She kept pretty busy coloring and also took a short nap. Illinois lost but it was a much better game than we expected it to be. We thought we would get creamed, but we were actually up at the half, so I'll take that as a small victory! It was an exciting game to the end, and while it would have been really fun to win, none of us expected that, so it was ok.
Then we went back to our hotel for lunch and then headed home. It was fun to have one final getaway... 9 weeks until I'm full term/12 weeks until my due date!
