Hiking Days!

Our Corona quarantine allowed us to take a few more hikes than normal this year!  We really enjoyed some days at Kickapoo and Turkey Run!

Lucas wanted to be carried a lot on the trails, especially if it was muddy.  I told him that he would get stronger if mommy didn't have to carry him.  I meant his legs, lungs, etc.  But he became obsessed with his biceps getting bigger.  He kept watching them as he walked, haha!

We stopped for ice cream on the way home from Turkey Run a few times;
Our ice cream places were not open yet in Illinos!

Every summer, we want to make it over to hike at Turkey Run, but I guess it took a global pandemic / quarantine to make it happen!

Our 16th Anniversary

Due to the Corona virus, our state was just starting to open up around our anniversary.  Indiana was a little more open, so we made a field trip over to The Farm & Co., my favorite vendor from The Covered Bridge Festival.

I got this big, new sign, as well as these two centerpieces:

I got a new sign to match our house:
And I got these two windows:

The kids got some yummy ice cream there:

I made a yummy dinner for our anniversary, out of The Pioneer Woman cookbook:
Happy 16 years, Josh!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was different this year, due to the Corona Virus.  We had church online at home.  After having been quarantined for two months, my parents came and had lunch with us outside on our screen porch.  Josh went and picked up The Beef House for lunch.  It was yummy.  But sitting outside was windy and cold!

I got lots of nice cards and gifts:

The school teachers were still able to help the kids pull off some surprises, even with remote learning:

Hannah got crafty and made me this snow globe and cookie bars!
Sandy and Kris Yelenick left these on my porch:
Josh took us out for ice cream:
It was a fun day... and I hope next year is back to normal!
