Queen Tea Luncheon

My mom and I took the girls to the Queen Tea Luncheon at the Georgetown Fairgrounds again this year.  Aleah got to enjoy it more now that she's a bit older!

It was a fun girls day!

Shooting Stars

The kids had a fun Shooting Stars season.  It's been fun to see Hannah improve over the last few years.  She scored several baskets at each game this year, which was new for her!  Jacob also did quite well and scored quite a few times!  Josh coached, so it was a fun time for the three of them!

Papa Steve came to all of their games:

Hannah-8.5 Years

Hannah is growing like a weed!  Sometimes I look at her and see glimpses of a teenage girl; she's just getting so tall and pretty, it is crazy!  Hannah is a great helper at home.  She helps me clean and organize a lot.  She is a great big sister and is very kind to her siblings.  She and Jacob fight sometimes, but they are very close and do everything together.  She is not shy at all.  She wants to be famous.  She loves Jesus and is asking a lot about baptism.  We're going to start a study together on that.  She does a great job at school.  She always has good reports and good grades.  Her teacher loves her and has called her "sassy" (in an endearing way).  I think that is a fitting word!  She is emotional when she is tired (aren't we all?).  She likes to make lists and is very self-disciplined.  She's naturally athletic.  She worries a lot.  A lot.  I feel like that is something she will always have to work on.  She is crafty and artistic.  She enjoys music and is taking piano lessons.  I think she would LOVE dance and gymnastics, but we only have time for so many things...

She made a fairy garden that she got from Paul & Alisa:
She got 3rd place in a school wide poster contest on Veteran's Day.  She was so happy:

Hannah was the American Heart Association coloring contest winner for her class and was in the top few fund raisers in her class.  She was really excited to help other kids:

Valentine's

Valentine's Day is always a pretty busy time around here, with lots of fun traditions.
There is the Father / Daughter Dance:

Papa always brings us candy:
Making Valentine Boxes:
Candy Grams at school:
My FAVORITE tradition is our family candlelight dinner.  The kids call it a "feast."  We have steak with all the sides and tell each other why we love each other.  It's one of my favorite nights ever!

Hannah's Valentine's Day Class Party

I got to plan the Valentine Day lunch for Hannah's class.  I made 26 individual heart shaped pizzas (after practicing on our family the week before).  It was fun!  We also had chips, strawberries, and Valentine's Day floats (vanilla ice cream, cherry 7-up, reddi-whip, and twizzler straws!).

I was glad that Hannah's class made their "boxes" at school this year, one less thing on my plate!
These hearts were all over Hannah's classroom door.  I didn't even have to see names to know which one was Hannah's!

Lucas' First Haircut

Lucas could not hold off until his first birthday to get his first haircut.  I decided to have it done on his 11 month old birthday.  As I am writing this, he is now 15 months and has already had 3 haircuts.  This boy has gobs of hair!!!

Jenni Canady cut it for us.  He did fairly well with it.  Not great, but not awful by any means.  We'll count it as a success!

Hannah's Class Christmas Party

The last day of school before Christmas break was canceled due to icey roads, which meant that our Christmas party had to be postponed until January!  It was a little crazy because I had made several trays of homemade cinnamon rolls, which then had to be remade a few weeks later.

But we had no trouble getting rid of all of them!  We did a breakfast this time with cinnamon rolls, fruit, yogurt, sausage, bacon, and orange juice.  It was a fun time!  I love getting to help in Hannah's class!
I snuck down to Jacob's class to see what he was up to as well:
